On this episode we talk with Dan Sundberg about the unique challenges of being a field service Metrologist and the need for experience when sending someone to a customer's location.
Dan began his career in the Navy where he learned metrology at Lowry AFB. He spent 20 years in the Naval metrology programs with career highlights as a Metrology Instructor for the Navy where he was recognized as the instructor of the quarter 6 times, and instructor of the year for the entire PMEL wing resulting in the award of the Naval Achievement Medal for an outstanding tour as an instructor.
After the Navy Dan worked in the civilian metrology community starting at Precision Metrology where he got his feet wet with commercial field service metrology. Next he went on to be a technical and quality manager for Florida/Acme Metrology where he expanded their accreditation by an impressive 300%
Dan is now employed as a Sr. Metrology Engineer with Abbott where he is enjoying a challenging and different environment to continue to learn and share with others the knowledge and experience in Metrology.
He is also an active Metrology community member working with the NCSLI Educators Corner and Metrology ambassador groups.
